The initial directors of the firm, Viresh Jayram Sivnarain and Rinesh Jayram Sivnarain both served their articles at the firm YT Mbatha and Partners of Newcastle.

 

YT Mbatha and Partners was on the legal panel of the Newcastle Municipality and Ithala Bank. Viresh was the head of the collections and commercial department for 2 years. Rinesh took over when Viresh was admitted as an attorney.

 

In August 2003, Viresh established the firm Viresh Sivnarain & Partners and was later joined by Rinesh in January 2005. At the time, the firm had its main office in Vryheid.

 

In 2008, the firm opened a branch office at Dundee. The Dundee branch office turned out to be successful and the firm closed its Vryheid office in 2009 since both attorneys were residing in Dundee.

 

In April 2015 the firm changed its name to RVS Attorneys.

 

In 2024 Rinesh left the firm because he was relocating to Cape Town.

 

Payal Luckan was admitted as an attorney in July 2025 and is employed as a professional assistant.

 

The firm utilizes specially designed software, called LAW 74 which has made all operations cloud based. Clients are able to view their files on their phones or computers from anywhere.

 

The firm uses E4 Software for its conveyancing matters.

 

The firm has the manpower, the facilities and equipment to undertake large volumes of work at very short notice.
